Conditions of Hire
Please read the following terms and conditions of hire as all Hirers will be expected to read the whole hiring agreement and sign as evidence that they agree to abide by them.
It is the duty of Hirer, users and other visitors to take care of themselves and others who may be affected by their activities and to co-operate in keeping the premises safe and healthy.
It is the responsibility of the Hirer to ensure that adequate safeguards are in place to protect the well-being of everyone with special attention given to that of children, disabled and vulnerable people.
All statutory or local regulations and rules for public safety must be strictly observed. Fire and safety equipment must not be misused or removed from its designated location unless in the event of an emergency.
Maximum number of people 65.
The hall is licensed for performance of a play, live music, recorded music and performance of dancing. The terms of the license require the event ceases at midnight except on Sundays when it must cease at 11.00pm. Please show consideration to the nearby dwellings when leaving the premises.
The sale of alcohol is only permitted with a Temporary Event Licence to be applied for by the Hirer – a copy of which must be sent to the Booking Secretary when submitting hire fee to complete.
It is the duty of the Hirer to ensure that alcohol is not excessively consumed so that their event’s activities do not cause a nuisance to local residents.
Take time before your event begins to familiarise yourself with the layout of the building, the location of the emergency equipment, first aid kit and escape routes.
Fire exits must not be obstructed and illuminated fire exit signs must be on for all public entertainment.
Nominate two people as fire wardens to be responsible for the complete evacuation of your group in the event of an emergency. Be sure of the numbers present at your event so that you can be certain everyone has reached the assembly point located at the front of the site - remembering to check the Kitchen, Toilets and Store have all been vacated.
No naked flames other than traditional candles on a birthday cake are permitted.
No barbeques are permitted in the building or within the grounds
No pyrotechnics or sparklers etc are permitted in the building or within the grounds.
No smoking in the premises or within the grounds.
Any electrical equipment brought to the hall must have a valid PAT certificate.
Should anyone using the hall discover a fault, damage or other situation which might cause injury they should contact the Booking Secretary as soon as possible so that the problem can be addressed. Any damage caused during an event or discovered following an event will be subject to reasonable charges for repairs.
At the end of your event please ensure the following:
- all electrical points are switched off at the wall including fridge, cooker and water heaters.
- stack chairs, ‘collapse’ the octagonal tables and return trestle tables to the store so that you leave the hall clean and tidy in the condition that you found it.
- all rubbish is taken away, ensuring that kitchen and toilet bins are emptied as the village hall does not have a rubbish collection.
Failure to do so will incur reasonable charges for additional cleaning.
